Young, Cummings named to Order of Canada

Neil Young and Burton Cummings are among 25 new officers of the Order of Canada, Governor General Michaëlle Jean announced yesterday.

Established in 1967, the Order of Canada recognizes outstanding achievement, dedication to community and service to the nation.

Jean also announced 32 new members, including hockey legend Mario Lemieux and Giller-Award winning writer David Adams Richards.

I wrote my final English essay in OAC about Richards' book Mercy Among The Children. I don't remember much about it, besides the fact that it was depressing as shit. Pretty sure I got a good mark on the essay though, so I guess we all win.
